blah: philosophers erg
It's kind of funny, I've noticed how a random question or casual thought can stop philosophers in their tracks. It doesn't take much just a minimal challenge to be reflective and their lured into hours of dialogue. It can be anywhere -on the path back to the office, in a cozy coffee shop, in the library, or across the dinner table.

It is almost like some sort of sick addiction and honestly I think most of it is meaningless rhetoric, but it shouldn't be like that. Philosophy even on the basic conversational level should have a point, it should be useful, it should say something.

Lately though I've been surrounded by critics, those within philosophy's own walls who talk and talk and talk and claim a lack of significance. I say they rob philosophy of purpose, their bitterness blinds them -because it is there. I want them to stop wasting their time; to stop wasting my time. If you don't see the benefit then get out. If you can't make yourself leave then obvious on some level you know there is some good so figure it out and shut up.
